Parents, Teachers bemoan overcrowding in public schools as 2020 academic year starts

As the school calendar kicked off this year, parents lamented over the fact that public schools are full especially for those starting off their secondary school education.

Monday 6th marked the beginning of the school year for students across the country and especially for those starting off their new life as secondary school students.  However many lamented over the fact that most schools claimed that they were full to capacity even before they could send their children there.

School officials, however, say this is out of their reach as they do not have enough classrooms to accommodate all the selected students unless school shifts are introduced where they study in the morning and others in the afternoon.

48 students are expected to fit in a classroom with two sharing a desk and chair, however, this at times surpasses the number and at times affects the students.
